Greetings!
It has been quite a while since my last post. It seems that things happen in clusters and then after a while I have time to sit down and tell you all about it.
March was a great month that went by too quickly. We made a trip down to Walsenburg for Spring Break and for Jack's birthday. Scott was not able to come, but we had fun nonetheless. I took the kids to the mining museum, and they had a really good time there. It is hard to grasp that Jack is already eight. Can you believe this blog started over eight years ago??
Easter has also come and gone. We had a small but very nice Easter weekend. Colored the eggs with the kiddos (we had to buy quite a few eggs). All four of them had a good time coloring eggs. We also went to the neighborhood egg hunt (fun!), and on Easter we headed over to Robert's house for a nice Easter Brunch. It was a great weekend. Hope your weekend was fun too.

For Jack and Emerson's birthday, I took them both to Colorado Adventure Point for an archery lesson. Both kids had LOTS of fun and immediately wanted to do it again. Robert and I had fun too. I had a little trouble with my elbow, but it's nothing permanent!
The final news for this...quarter...is that we took both Spencer and Duncan to appointments with Early Intervention and Child Find. These programs are through the school district and state to help with kids that may need some extra help.
We were a bit concerned about Spencer's hearing because he had been asking a lot to hear things at a higher volume. Turns out, he just likes the volume and there is nothing actually wrong with his hearing right now. (Not that we turn the volume up for him, but it's nice to know why he asked).
Duncan went in because he really isn't talking yet. At the time of his appointment he was not even saying Mama or Dada. They did a 90 minute play session/observation of him by a speech therapist and an occupational therapist. He did very well in many cognitive areas, but his verbal communication is between 30-50% behind where most kids are his age. So...9-12 months instead of 19 months. So he qualifies for in-home speech therapy. He is saying about two sounds since the appointment (pa and ma!!) but I think it will still be good for him. And it is funded by the district so there is no out of pocket cost to us (except our taxes I suppose).
They will reevaluate him in six months. Hoping for the best!
Logan is still in vision therapy, and is seeing improvement. His next evaluation is in a couple of weeks, then another 10 therapy sessions. It can be a struggle to do the exercises every day, but knowing that they help makes it easier.
Anyway, I hope your quarter has been going well. Maybe I will be able to write again soon, as there will be a lot going on in the next few weeks.
Until next time!
