Olive You So Much!

I found out at Christmas that I had failed to teach my children the fine art of eating black olives. I decided to have a lesson in olive as finger foods. It was a big hit! Target has some nice big olives, perfect for fingertips.

Pinewood Derby!

Wow! Jack had his first Pinewood Derby on Saturday and what an event! I'm not sure I have ever been to one despite all those years Robert and Dad were involved with scouting.  Jack had a lot of fun making his debut car. We kept it simple this year and went with a basic wedge shape. We helped him cut the block and he sanded and painted it. He also glued on some less subtle weight, but it does give the car a distinctive look.  We went in not really sure what to expect. There were so many people! Lots of siblings, grandparents, and parents. I think the Sibling Outlaw races had 14 heats!  They raced by Den, and Logan, Spencer, Duncan and I walked over a bit before the Tigers raced.  I could tell Jack was nervous before the first heat - his car was racing. He won his first race and was so excited. You could tell he was trying to remain calm because he was biting his lip. Cute stuff.  Logan, Duncan and I left early to get lunch ready and do you know what? Jack came ho...

Two! Four! ... 41!

Just thought I'd start off with a cute comparison of the two younger brothers.  What a month we've had! Two birthdays and a monthday!!  Duncan is great. He's more and more alert each day. Loves to watch his brothers and laugh. Getting so tall!! Still in the 75% for height!! Can't believe Spencer is two! He's growing up too fast! And he seems to have only one camera face.   He enjoyed having his cousins, uncle, and grandparents over for his party.  He is starting to talk more. Admittedly, most of his words are Star Wars or comic book characters. But hey! Words!! He is in love with Spider-Man, Hulk, Batman, and Darth Vader. Just like his father (LOL). Scott started to potty train him last weekend. He checked out great at the doctors as well. Just where he needs to be.  Speaking of which, Scott had a birthday too! We had a great day.  I hope all of you are having a great January as well.  Until next time...

Hello Wolf Pack...

It was an overcast morning in Roxborough. The sky threatened snow and we still needed some last minute party supplies.  Dare I brave  an early morning trip to Target with all four kids? A daunting task at times, but I wanted to beat any foul weather coming over the mountains. So I dared,  Yes, I dared. Breakfast prepared and eaten (yay!). Four children dressed in clean clothes! 4 pairs of shoes found! Coats and hats!! Was I using all my good luck before we even got in the van? Time check: 8:15. Beating the grade school traffic jam! Sweet! Roads clear. No snow yet. Pulled into a space and parked. All the kids got out with no hassle. So far so good... Decision time. Regular cart, or four child cart? Do I press my luck? OK, I'm feeling brave. Let the two biggest walk.  Bucket in the cart, and toddler in the seat. Here we go. Oops, have to stop and return something. Well, they stayed near the cart. "Can we look at toys?" "No, we're just here for a few th...
