Well I have finally completed my desk refinishing project...It was lots of fun and I learned a lot about painting and refinishing. I think I actually do better only having 1 hour increments. Otherwise I find myself hurrying and things tend to get messed up. Now for an exciting (or not) photo history of the project. Step one was sand, wash, and prime. After I got the hang of it, I found spray paint easy to use and smooth. Step two, I sprayed the wooden parts with yellow paint. Step three, I sprayed the main color on the metal parts. I did have one section where I didn't quite get all the goo gone off and the paint bubbled off. But, resand, rewash, and repaint, and it looks alright. Finally, I painted the top of the desk with dry-erase paint. Today I touched up where the dry-erase spilled over. In 3 days they will be fully cured and useable.
