Fuzzy Wuzzy Was a Bear

Well I'm here to say our friend Fuzzy did have hair. Very shaggy hair in fact. We had heard he was in the neighborhood. In fact he was in Scott's parent's garage last week. He made an appearance in our neighbor's garage as well.

So Spencer and I were enjoying waking up early. Sitting in the kitchen, me with my coffee...Spencer with his fingers. When something jumped our (not tall) back fence. That's not too unusual. There's an orange cat who loves our sunny berm. But it was way bigger. At first I wondered if it was our neighbor's dog or a raccoon. No. It was a bear!

Since it was out and I was in the event was kind of exciting. I still called the police. A Sheriffs deputy came and knocked. He said there was a Mom and three cubs around. Fish & Wildlife called and said to report sightings. They are keeping watch to see what they do.

I guess that's ok. But I kind of don't feel I can let the kids play outside. This is just a side effect of living so close to the foothills. Every year it's something. Bear, mountain lion, etc. It's kind of neat. Hope you like the pictures!!

So...also the local news interviewed me about my bear. Here's a link to the video:

Angel or Devil?

Kids. They are too funny. I had to share this one with all of you. We went to Mass today and tried to sit inside for once. Everything was great, until Jack noticed the missal in the pew had these nice orange and yellow squares or something in the illustration on the cover. He was conviced they were dominoes, but that is a word he struggles to say. So, at an especially quiet time in the Mass he looks at me and says, "damn-yous! damn-yous!" We both had a mix of embarassment and laughter. Only out of the mouth of a 2 year old! We went to the back of the church soon after that. :)

Happy Birthday Jack

Here are some photos from Jack's 2nd birthday day, and party. He was so excited he was telling everyone happy birthday! We 'filled' his room with balloons while he was sleeping. He was so excited to wake up to balloons! Jack wanted to pose with his new favorite toy - Buzz! They are still usually only separated at nighttime (too tempting to make noise all night). Oh, and that is his 'camera' smile. He uses it whenever he sees the lens pointed at him. So cheesy! Blowing out the candles on his Spiderman cake. Yes, all the other stuff is Thomas the Train. He likes what he likes. Jack wasn't about to let Emerson go home without a hug. It was a hug, not an attack. Promise!

Easter

Easter has come and gone, but finally I have some photos uploaded! We had a nice time and enjoyed spending time with Grandma and Grandpa C, Antie and Uncle John Tressell , and Uncle Robert, Aunt Natalie, and Emerson. Jack really enjoyed hunting for eggs (for a few days he asked us to hide them again so he could find them), but was a bit disappointed when they no longer had animal cracker in them. Anyway better late than never. I'll put all the photos on Flickr . :) Painting Eggs They actually sat still for three seconds! Family Photo - Easter 2011 Until next time...
