13 Months!

Hard to believe a month has already gone by since Jack's first birthday! He is still doing really well and seems to be learning new stuff all the time. I will try to recount his recent accomplishments: Takes naps almost every day! Sleeps even longer at night now (7:15 is the record). Eats more table food - especially cheese, pasta, potatoes, and rolls. Runs. Climbs. Always. Knows the sign for "more" and tries to use "drink" Will take you by the hand where he wants to go. Helps with laundry! Tries to help with dishes. Understands "do you want a snack?" and runs over to the pantry to grab what he is hungry for (I keep those on a low shelf). Has three teeth! We think we see a fourth coming in, too. Weighs 17.5 lb - he'll face forward eventually! Loves to run around outside in the backyard. Likes dancing to grandma's singing flowers, but doesn't start dancing until the refrain - every time! We like to watch him on the baby monitor when he...

Just Like Everyone Else

I guess you don't have to actually be in the bathroom to read during the toilet procedure!

Cut Out the Middle Man

I t was snack time at the Christensen house and I decided to use up some leftover cream cheese and salsa and chips (just lying around -I promise!!) Jack, as it turns out is new to the world of dipping. I used some of his crunchies and dipped it in the salsa cheese mix. He seemed to enjoy the flavor of it. I went into the kitchen to fix us both a drink and when I came back out I realized that Jack decided he'd had enough of the middle man and went right into dipping with the tools God gave him! I laughed so hard I had to share it with you! No One's Around to Catch Me... E xcep t Mom and her camera... I guess he thought it was good bean dip! He ate the rest of the bowl!!

Go Rockies!

This year Jack is ready for baseball season. In honor of the Rockies Home Opener, Jack wore the Rockies outfit he got for his birthday. Not shown is the Thomas the Tank Engine "tattoo" he is sporting on his leg from Emerson's birthday party. Also, in an effort to be all out Rockies, he tried to eat a purple crayon today. Talk about dedication!

Easter

E aster 2009 Flashback Easter 2010 Well, Jack sure has changed a lot since last Easter - at least size wise! We enjoyed a simple but fun Easter. On Saturday night we went out to eat with Grandma and Grandpa Christensen. It was quite a treat because we had given up eating out for Lent! Phew, glad that is over! On Sunday morning, we went to Mass early hoping for a smaller crowd (nope). Then we made up for lost time by going out to breakfast. After we got home we changed into comfy clothes and Grandma and Grandpa came over. We tried to see if Jack would hunt for eggs. "Hunt" is not quite the right verb. If you sat near the egg and made obvious pointing gestures towards it he would laugh and come collect it. He soon learned they were filled with yogurt melts and crunchies and brought them to people who could open them for him. Overall, I think Jack enjoyed himself. He even wore the bunny hat for a while before he noticed it was there. I think it will be even more fun next year...
