Sloppy Jacks and Room Mothers

Greetings! Well here is my place to just let some things off my chest, eh? Ha! I don't do that too often. :) None of it is bad news. All good, all good  -  no worries there people. First of all, today was momentous because Jack helped me make dinner. In fact, he did everything that didn't involve a sharp knife or the stove. We made Sloppy Joes. [Actually they have been known as Sloppy Jacks ever since we had them for dinner the day Jack decided to be born!] Jack measured the sauce ingredients, put the cheese on the buns, made salad, got the fries ready for the oven, set the table, poured drinks. It was almost like a Mom Vacation. And he loved it! I'm hoping this is the first of many times. It was a great way to spend one-on-one (plus Spencer) time with Jack and get something important done at the same time. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In other news, there was no one volunteering to...

Eight Months Young!

Greetings! Things are just swimming along here in Colorado. It's September 12, and today it snowed! So rather than having an eight-month birthday photo in summer clothes, Spencer is wearing his footsie pajamas. :) He is doing really well this month. He's sitting alone and rolling all over the place. He's a man on a mission most of the time. Also, he is sprouting his first tooth! We were quite surprised because both Jack and Logan (the dos bros ) were very late to erupt teeth.  He is also eating solid food really well and is almost through the very basic first foods. Puffs and bananas may be his favorites.  The dos bros  have been busy too. They are both enrolled in a class called Flip N Dip. It is 30 minutes of gymnastics and 30 minutes of swimming class. One class under their belt and they like it. Yay! I took Logan, and watched him try to walk under the handrail on the stairs and fall face first into the water. I realized after a few seconds the...

First Day of Preschool

I can hardly believe Logan started 3 year old Preschool this week!  We have decided to send Logan to a different school than Jack attended. We loved Holy Cross and feel it was an excellent beginning for Jack. However, there was an opening at our parish preschool so Logan is going to St Mary.  At first I was unsure about the move. Mainly, I think, because sometimes it is hard for me to adjust to change. The first week of school has erased all my fears and worries about doing something new. Logan really enjoys school and didn't have any problems when I left him there (he was surprised it seems and kind of upset with me at first. Explaining it with words was different than experiencing me dropping him off I guess).  So, two of our little dudes are in school now. Wow! Exciting times in our house. :) *** also if anyone is interested in buying a raffle ticket for the school fundraiser please let me know by Sept 11. They are $10 each.
