Well, today has been off to a promising start. Spencer has had his longest sleep ever. Almost 4 hours! Wow! I'm one "rested" mama. LOL. He fed alright without needing a suction this time too. He does have Crackle sounds on both sides of his lungs today. Hoping that maybe starts to clear up soon.
I'm glad he slept. I was worried he wouldn't since he was so restless and awake/uncomfortable yesterday.
I will try updating this post every few feeds, or whenever there is news.
Until next time...

He slept well but not quite so long the rest of the night. The nurse turned down his oxygen a bit so we shall see how that goes. Still very congested but we went overnight without a major suction - only the bulb suction when he spit up. That is a major improvement !!! Very exciting. If we can keep his oxygen lower that will be two big improvements today. Fingers crossed
Until next time...

Well today they finally removed his heart rate and respiration monitors so there are a lot fewer wires dangling from Spencer. They also tried a room air test (seeing his oxygen levels breathing on his own) and it wasn't where he would need to be to come home so we are still here for a while longer and he is still on oxygen. Otherwise he is still eating and sleeping so that so good news. Not much else to report right now.
Until next time...

Still on 1/8 lpm oxygen but he is in a pretty good mood and may be smiling at me. Or may need a burp... The nurse may try another room air test while he's asleep tonight. I will let you know if and when they try again.
Until next time...
Dena - What amount of oxygen do they have him on? That would be helpful to know as a benchmark so we can gauge how he's progressing. Praying for and love you both!

When I left this morning he was on 1/4 lpm. They did the test while Scott was here. I just looked and it's on 1/8 lpm which is about the lowest it can be on this gauge. So that's pretty good news I think. :)
ReplyDeleteContinuing to pray, sending hugs.
ReplyDeleteYes! 1/8 is as low as they'll go, then it's room air. This is good news!
