Spencer - Day 3: A child of God

Well he is off to a rough start. We had a pretty good night, but his mucous is becoming very thick and there is lots of it. Thankfully the suction seems to work and as of this morning he is still eating well and making diapers.

That said, we did call our parish and asked to have him baptized. Fr. Luis came over as soon as Scott could get here and did a short form baptism. It just made Scott and I feel that much better and hopefully the extra Grace and Blessings help too.

Father encouraged us to still have the longer ceremony when Spencer is well, even though he is already baptized (with all the prayers and candle etc.). We were planning to have it this summer so that looks like it will still happen.

We shall see what the rest of the day brings.

Until next time...

-----UPDATE-----

Evening. Not much has changed. He is still on oxygen and has a lot of gunk. But he continues to eat well and make diapers. We are hoping the worst day is today or tomorrow.

Not much else to say!

Until next time...

Angel or Devil?

Kids. They are too funny. I had to share this one with all of you. We went to Mass today and tried to sit inside for once. Everything was great, until Jack noticed the missal in the pew had these nice orange and yellow squares or something in the illustration on the cover. He was conviced they were dominoes, but that is a word he struggles to say. So, at an especially quiet time in the Mass he looks at me and says, "damn-yous! damn-yous!" We both had a mix of embarassment and laughter. Only out of the mouth of a 2 year old! We went to the back of the church soon after that. :)

Happy Birthday Jack

Here are some photos from Jack's 2nd birthday day, and party. He was so excited he was telling everyone happy birthday! We 'filled' his room with balloons while he was sleeping. He was so excited to wake up to balloons! Jack wanted to pose with his new favorite toy - Buzz! They are still usually only separated at nighttime (too tempting to make noise all night). Oh, and that is his 'camera' smile. He uses it whenever he sees the lens pointed at him. So cheesy! Blowing out the candles on his Spiderman cake. Yes, all the other stuff is Thomas the Train. He likes what he likes. Jack wasn't about to let Emerson go home without a hug. It was a hug, not an attack. Promise!

Easter

Easter has come and gone, but finally I have some photos uploaded! We had a nice time and enjoyed spending time with Grandma and Grandpa C, Antie and Uncle John Tressell , and Uncle Robert, Aunt Natalie, and Emerson. Jack really enjoyed hunting for eggs (for a few days he asked us to hide them again so he could find them), but was a bit disappointed when they no longer had animal cracker in them. Anyway better late than never. I'll put all the photos on Flickr . :) Painting Eggs They actually sat still for three seconds! Family Photo - Easter 2011 Until next time...
