15 Months Already!

Before we get to Christmas...

My how the time flies. I cannot believe Logan is already 15 months old. OK, was 15 months old. Back in November. I've missed October too it seems. A summary is in order before the holiday rush.

October Lowdown:

School has been great for Jack, and work has been busy for Scott. He worked a lot of OT in October, but we are grateful he has a job so we try not to be too upset when we miss him on Saturdays.

Halloween was a LOT of fun for Jack this year since he really understood what was going on. He didn't much care for the creepy decorations or costumes, but he loved trick-or-treating. Logan tagged along for the ride and tried to take it all in.  Jack also had a Noah's Ark party at school. We bought Jack a used Winnie-the-Pooh costume and Logan an matching Tigger. Cute right? Sure. Glad I snapped a photo that day.  After wearing last year's ladybug costume for the Noah's Ark party Jack wanted to be a ladybug again for trick-or-treating. LOL.  I don't feel too bad, because he loves dress-up play and the Silly ol' Bear will get much use later on.

November Scoop:

Logan turned 15 months old and had his checkup. He is doing great and his number look good:

     30 1/2 inches tall
     21 lb 15 oz
     49 1/2  head circumference

He is healthy and as of today (2 Dec) he has 3 teeth in and 2 on the way. Yay! Logan is pretty happy-go-lucky and laughs at everything - especially his own "jokes". He watches Jack like a hawk and wants to do everything his big brother does. I'm trying to use this to my advantage but sometimes Jack isn't in the mentoring mood (ha ha ha). Heck, it's good for both of them I think. And I'm glad they are so different - I think it will help them out in the long run.

We had a small Thanksgiving at Grandma and Grandpa C's house and they made a huge feast. Thanks so much! We all had fun and too much to eat. Except maybe Logan who doesn't ever seem to have too much to eat.

Since Scott had that whole week off (you know, before he has another string of travel and overtime) we got our tree out that week. It was fun to watch each kid be excited about the decorations: Jack because he remembers now and Logan pretty much for the "first time again".  We all love Christmas season and it puts us all in a cheery mood so it was good to get the tree out again.

Okay, now I feel up to date before I get to Christmas. I won't be 3 months behind at least.

Hope you all are well and are enjoying your Advent!

Until Next Time...

Cut Out the Middle Man

I t was snack time at the Christensen house and I decided to use up some leftover cream cheese and salsa and chips (just lying around -I promise!!) Jack, as it turns out is new to the world of dipping. I used some of his crunchies and dipped it in the salsa cheese mix. He seemed to enjoy the flavor of it. I went into the kitchen to fix us both a drink and when I came back out I realized that Jack decided he'd had enough of the middle man and went right into dipping with the tools God gave him! I laughed so hard I had to share it with you! No One's Around to Catch Me... E xcep t Mom and her camera... I guess he thought it was good bean dip! He ate the rest of the bowl!!

7 Weeks Old!

All Dressed Up and Nowhere to Go! Smile for Daddy! Baby, You Can Drive My Car Well, Little Jack is almost 8 weeks old now.  He has been a busy boy, and we are starting to get into a more regular routine. I think it is good for all involved.  We usually get up about when Daddy does at 5:00.  Sometimes we get another nap after that first meal, but sometimes we don't. And that's OK.   Our new nighttime routine involves bath-time at 7:00 (on bath days) so that he can eat and drift off to sleep and maybe give Mom and Dad an hour before their 9:00 bedtime.   Jack can still usually go 4 hours at night. Sometimes we are unlucky and he gets up every 2 hours.  This is rare now.  Sometimes we are very lucky and  he'll sleep 6 to 8 hours.  Not too often, but it is a taste of things to come.  He is getting really good at holding his head up.  I think he gets bored on some days because you cannot just leave him in his bouncy seat - he cries and cries.  He went into the doctor's last...

Second First: First day of School!

Well, the day finally came. It felt like we waited a long time, but the day arrived quickly nonetheless. The first day of school! Maybe it seemed to come so soon since the kids start school when they are 2 1/2 or 3 now. Guess there's more to learn than when I was a kid, LOL. It was more stressful than I thought to select a school. We visited a few local(ish) schools and finally settled on Holy Cross Lutheran Early Learning Center . It's only 15 minutes away, which is pretty close for where we live. We liked this preschool mainly because of the small size of the classes. And when we took Jack for a tour he seemed the most comfortable. So I guess in the end the choice was pretty simple - I just over worry about things most of the time. So he goes Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9:00 - 12:00. It's an adjustment for all of us, but so far so good. Ready to Leave  That was Jack all ready to go on the first day. Eventually he'll grow into that backpack. B...
