Spring Has Sprung!

Another post for another topic. Still not photos...

We've been quite busy this spring - more than usual! We have been able to find a solution to part of our backyard. Around our paver patio where only weeds were growing (shady, no water, etc) it is now a rock garden, with a few very hearty plants I did not kill over the winter. Looks so much better!

It worked out because we had to find a place for all the rocks under our deck.  This area is now becoming a shaded playground.  Currently there is a sandbox (big!) and we had the sand delivered today. Grandma is letting us put the fort she has had in her living room, then in her yard, under our deck so that will make a nice playground. Once the fort is in we will order some pea gravel and then it will be really close to a nice yard! If only grass would grow...I am considering AstroTurf, since there aren't sprinklers back there, and I'm allergic to grass anyway...we will just have to wait it out. I did see a house down here that was actually rocks, trees, and small knolls of AstroTurf. AWESOME!

Jack is already having tons of fun in the sandbox (with cover). He's also learning to ride a bicycle, and we all got the itch so now there is a whole family of bicycles.  In the dining room currently, but we recently came into a set of ceiling mounts and the bicycles will soon have a forever home. We are excited to go out to Chatfield and Waterton Canyon and be able to ride without worrying about traffic and cars.

Again, photos will be available...soonish.

Until Next Time!

  1. So nice to have a good play area in your yard! Our son in Texas just put up a swing set for his girls. (He said he earned his Boy Scout construction badge--HA!) HAVE FUN!
Looking forward to more pics. Mary

  2. Mary,

Yeah, swings would be nice but our yard is too small. :( We are planning to bring over a Step 2 fort that Grandma found. It was in her living room for a while. I'm sure she'll be glad to have it in our yard!

Angel or Devil?

Kids. They are too funny. I had to share this one with all of you. We went to Mass today and tried to sit inside for once. Everything was great, until Jack noticed the missal in the pew had these nice orange and yellow squares or something in the illustration on the cover. He was conviced they were dominoes, but that is a word he struggles to say. So, at an especially quiet time in the Mass he looks at me and says, "damn-yous! damn-yous!" We both had a mix of embarassment and laughter. Only out of the mouth of a 2 year old! We went to the back of the church soon after that. :)

Happy Birthday Jack

Here are some photos from Jack's 2nd birthday day, and party. He was so excited he was telling everyone happy birthday! We 'filled' his room with balloons while he was sleeping. He was so excited to wake up to balloons! Jack wanted to pose with his new favorite toy - Buzz! They are still usually only separated at nighttime (too tempting to make noise all night). Oh, and that is his 'camera' smile. He uses it whenever he sees the lens pointed at him. So cheesy! Blowing out the candles on his Spiderman cake. Yes, all the other stuff is Thomas the Train. He likes what he likes. Jack wasn't about to let Emerson go home without a hug. It was a hug, not an attack. Promise!

Easter

Easter has come and gone, but finally I have some photos uploaded! We had a nice time and enjoyed spending time with Grandma and Grandpa C, Antie and Uncle John Tressell , and Uncle Robert, Aunt Natalie, and Emerson. Jack really enjoyed hunting for eggs (for a few days he asked us to hide them again so he could find them), but was a bit disappointed when they no longer had animal cracker in them. Anyway better late than never. I'll put all the photos on Flickr . :) Painting Eggs They actually sat still for three seconds! Family Photo - Easter 2011 Until next time...
