Week 30! Almost Done!

Greetings!

This week I have my 30 week checkup - the appointments have started being twice a month now. Time sure does fly! At my last checkup we did the glucose test and I did fine. Also I wasn't anemic this time so no extra Iron pills for me. Yay! Maybe I won't have such a hard fall after Baby Buzz is born.

I'm not sure we are quite as prepared as we were last time by now. Here's the post from our Jack pregnancy and look how neat and organized everything is! No photos are being released of baby's room at this time...

Well, we have all the stuff, it's just not really put where it goes yet! Clothes to wash, furniture to move back to our master bedroom, etc. Also we need to rearrange our car-seats so they both fit in the car one of these days (hopefully...)

Jack has taken to calling him Baby Buzz. It makes sense if you knew that Buzz Lightyear is his Favorite (tied with Spiderman). So far he seems excited but anyone who has been an older sibling (and remembers it) will know that it's a bit different after the new baby doesn't leave. You get over it, and it ends up being great but it's a big transition. Hershey's bars, or some other consolation prize when baby is brought home goes a LONG way. Trust me!

Other than that, since I know some of you are asking, we have narrowed down a name list to a few. Nothing like waiting until the last minute! Jack has his own choices, but they may or may not be on our list. I think his favorite is still Enzo. Oh, and it is NOT Jack or John. Maybe that hint will help you as well. And our list is actually a bit different from our last go around, with new and exciting names, like D'Artagnan.

But that's all the hint you're getting. So you'll just have to wait until August...like we are.

Jack has become quite the helper. He has two titles, "Helper" and "Getter". When he gets stuff from the pantry, or his closet, he's the "Getter". It's nice having someone get the dishes for me from the bottom rack now that I can't bend over! He's helping vacuum since we have a small had vac, but he also still can make a mess.

Until next time...

  1. I think you'll find yourself feeling more relaxed the second time around. What used to seem important doesn't seem so important when you have two little ones. Loving them takes up all your time!

I'm excited to see Baby Buzz pictures and to hear the funny stories of Jack and Buzz!

Cut Out the Middle Man

I t was snack time at the Christensen house and I decided to use up some leftover cream cheese and salsa and chips (just lying around -I promise!!) Jack, as it turns out is new to the world of dipping. I used some of his crunchies and dipped it in the salsa cheese mix. He seemed to enjoy the flavor of it. I went into the kitchen to fix us both a drink and when I came back out I realized that Jack decided he'd had enough of the middle man and went right into dipping with the tools God gave him! I laughed so hard I had to share it with you! No One's Around to Catch Me... E xcep t Mom and her camera... I guess he thought it was good bean dip! He ate the rest of the bowl!!

7 Weeks Old!

All Dressed Up and Nowhere to Go! Smile for Daddy! Baby, You Can Drive My Car Well, Little Jack is almost 8 weeks old now.  He has been a busy boy, and we are starting to get into a more regular routine. I think it is good for all involved.  We usually get up about when Daddy does at 5:00.  Sometimes we get another nap after that first meal, but sometimes we don't. And that's OK.   Our new nighttime routine involves bath-time at 7:00 (on bath days) so that he can eat and drift off to sleep and maybe give Mom and Dad an hour before their 9:00 bedtime.   Jack can still usually go 4 hours at night. Sometimes we are unlucky and he gets up every 2 hours.  This is rare now.  Sometimes we are very lucky and  he'll sleep 6 to 8 hours.  Not too often, but it is a taste of things to come.  He is getting really good at holding his head up.  I think he gets bored on some days because you cannot just leave him in his bouncy seat - he cries and cries.  He went into the doctor's last...

Second First: First day of School!

Well, the day finally came. It felt like we waited a long time, but the day arrived quickly nonetheless. The first day of school! Maybe it seemed to come so soon since the kids start school when they are 2 1/2 or 3 now. Guess there's more to learn than when I was a kid, LOL. It was more stressful than I thought to select a school. We visited a few local(ish) schools and finally settled on Holy Cross Lutheran Early Learning Center . It's only 15 minutes away, which is pretty close for where we live. We liked this preschool mainly because of the small size of the classes. And when we took Jack for a tour he seemed the most comfortable. So I guess in the end the choice was pretty simple - I just over worry about things most of the time. So he goes Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9:00 - 12:00. It's an adjustment for all of us, but so far so good. Ready to Leave  That was Jack all ready to go on the first day. Eventually he'll grow into that backpack. B...
