Marathon for Kids Charity!

Family and Friends,

I’m sure you’ve all heard of sponsoring people in races for charity. Donate a dollar for every mile run, and it all goes to a good cause. Well, I’m entering a marathon. I know this may surprise even the people who know me closely. I’m not in the greatest physical shape, but don’t let that fool you. I’m particularly well conditioned for this type of marathon. It’s a gaming marathon. 24 hours for the ‘Extra Life’ event sponsored by the Sarcastic Gamer website:

All my donations go to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital here in Denver.

(this charity was started by Marie Osmond in 1983)

So I need your help, and here’s the deal. I’ll be gaming for 24 hours on October 16th, and I’m asking for a dollar an hour. If you can’t swing it then a few bucks is fine too. If I don’t make it 24 hours straight, and I know I won’t due to various other commitments, I’ll make them up, or I’ll get help from my teammate, Dena. In fact, we may just split it into 12 hours each since we usually play together anyway. Here’s where you go to donate:

So what will we be playing? Glad you asked. Our favorite game, Lord of the Rings Online has gone free-to-play. That’s right, you can join us in the game and support us in our efforts for FREE! Just go download the client and create an account:

If you seriously want to do this, I suggest you get it downloaded and installed and everything before the 16th so we can all play together from the start! I’m not sure how much technical assistance I can provide once we’ve started. – Really, it is a lot of fun ;) (Oh, we're on Landroval server)

So spread the word, I can use all the help I can get.

And thanks.

Sincerely,

Scott

Angel or Devil?

Kids. They are too funny. I had to share this one with all of you. We went to Mass today and tried to sit inside for once. Everything was great, until Jack noticed the missal in the pew had these nice orange and yellow squares or something in the illustration on the cover. He was conviced they were dominoes, but that is a word he struggles to say. So, at an especially quiet time in the Mass he looks at me and says, "damn-yous! damn-yous!" We both had a mix of embarassment and laughter. Only out of the mouth of a 2 year old! We went to the back of the church soon after that. :)

Happy Birthday Jack

Here are some photos from Jack's 2nd birthday day, and party. He was so excited he was telling everyone happy birthday! We 'filled' his room with balloons while he was sleeping. He was so excited to wake up to balloons! Jack wanted to pose with his new favorite toy - Buzz! They are still usually only separated at nighttime (too tempting to make noise all night). Oh, and that is his 'camera' smile. He uses it whenever he sees the lens pointed at him. So cheesy! Blowing out the candles on his Spiderman cake. Yes, all the other stuff is Thomas the Train. He likes what he likes. Jack wasn't about to let Emerson go home without a hug. It was a hug, not an attack. Promise!

Easter

Easter has come and gone, but finally I have some photos uploaded! We had a nice time and enjoyed spending time with Grandma and Grandpa C, Antie and Uncle John Tressell , and Uncle Robert, Aunt Natalie, and Emerson. Jack really enjoyed hunting for eggs (for a few days he asked us to hide them again so he could find them), but was a bit disappointed when they no longer had animal cracker in them. Anyway better late than never. I'll put all the photos on Flickr . :) Painting Eggs They actually sat still for three seconds! Family Photo - Easter 2011 Until next time...
