First "Foods"

Well, Wednesday we decided to give "Milk with a bit of rice cereal" a try, since he seemed so interested in our dinner. It's amusing to go from the first tries to the "beakin' out" towards the end. He was very excited and wanted to help hold the spoon until he realized it was less efficient!

Phun Photos - Beakin' Out!

Extreme Educational Labeling of Household Items I'm a Pepper! Jack's Beak. "Beakin' Out" we call it, when he is really intent on some object he grows a beak! Look! We do go places!!! The family walked along the Waterton Canyon Trail near our house. It is really pretty and looks to be quite long. We only went out for a while since it was really sunny that day. It would be a great place for a picnic (and it's free)

Five Months!

Pouty Jack I can't believe Jack will be five months old this weekend! My how time flies by. Jack has come a long way since March. First off, he has more hair! A couple of them are really long and stick up like he's a "Who" from Dr. Seuss. Jack definitely has different cries now - when he's upset or lonely, when he's tired, and when he's hungry, or if he's surprised or hurt. He also talks a lot ( a lot ) and can recognize his grandparents on the phone and on Skype. The phone confuses him though - voice but no face! He's still not really a napper but we appreciate the long night's sleep we get. And he's starting to take to the bottle finally! He can play for a while on his front, or his back, and he can sit in his chair for a long time too. He likes his toys and I think he is developing favorites. He's the little scientist now. He shakes his toys and then drops them on the floor. I have read it is to see what happens and he starts ...

More Photos

This week has been a good week. Jack has rolled over from back to front twice, but we have missed both as he was in bed! This is all the proof we have. Nice Diaper Showing Over Your Pants! He also got a new jump swing which he seems to like, but we may need to adjust it. Jump! Finally, he got a new Pirate Outfit. Since Scott asked if he could be a Pirate at his Baptism, it only seemed fitting... Arr!

Wall of Fame

Wall of Fame Everything is great, and we have some cute photos of Jack, and our new Wall of Fame in his room. So he can learn the faces of his grandparents. He even smiles when he sees their photos, so that is a good sign he recognizes them! We are working on the other door still, so no one is on that wall yet. We had a few days of respite from the heat and Grandma Pat just happened to bring us some galoshes so... Jack in a Puddle Then we decided that it was time to show off Jack's mad baseball skills! Batter Up! Hope you enjoy them, I am going to try to upload some onto Flickr today if he gives me a sec.
