Tummy Time Face

Jack looks serious with his furrowed Christensen brow!! We have some good pictures of "tummy time" we thought we would share.  He also likes his baby front-pack, and sometimes the sling. Usually the front-pack + Dad = Nap time!! This week Jack has started to smile on his own - like if Scott or I smile, or if we tickle his lip or nose.  He is way better at holding his head up, and stays awake longer if we are doing something with him.  He is also more aware of his body, especially his hands.  He tries to reach for things, or swat at things (like his medicine) We enjoy reading various books to him and playing "tummy time".  Sometimes I read Winnie-the-Pooh, and Scott reads Lord of the Rings. Scott enjoys watching old episodes of The Incredible Hulk on Netflix.com with Jack.  "Don't make me hungry, Mr. McGee! You wouldn't like me when I'm hungry" seems to be a catch phrase.  Scott has started calling Jack "Baby Hulk" when he gets fussy!...

One Month Old!

Papa with Jack and Nonie with Emerson. Same age, what a size difference! Little Jack and Dad covered in ink after collecting hand and foot stamps! Greetings all! What a busy couple of weeks we've had.  Jack had a lot of visitors for Easter weekend.  Nonie and Papa Sudar came up from Dallas.  Great Aunt and Uncle Nettie and Marty came up from Clovis, with Jack's cousin Andrew.  Great Antie Marian came from Walsenburg! Cousins Shellie and Matthew came down from Estes Park, and we all had Easter Lunch at Great Uncle John's house in Westminster.  Jack has already met so much of his family!  Folks got to meet both Jack and Emerson on Friday night when Robert and Natalie came over for a visit during their busy Easter weekend festivities.  What a cute photo of the twice-over grandparents! Jack still has his thrush - takes a long time for that stuff to go away -  both in his mouth and on his bum.  He also has the sniffles and what appears to be a cold. Goodness only knows where he ...

Two Weeks and Counting!

Ah, to sleep...perchance to dream. Yes, we would all like that, wouldn't we? Here is our 2-week update. A bit tardy but not too bad considering. Jack had a bit of a stomach virus his first week home and he has felt icky and been kind of fussy as a result.  It also gave him some serious diaper rash that we are still combating.  Poor little guy!  He also developed Thrush and that medicine can make his tummy hurt and add to his diaper rash problem.  So it has been a hard couple of week for him, but he is a trooper and is doing great anyway! At his 2-day visit he weighed 5 lb 13 oz. We went to a new pediatrician for his 2-week visit and he had already surpassed his birth weight and was 6 lbs 9 oz! Plus he had grown 1/2 an inch! All this despite the tummy troubles.  The doctor said he looked great and was in the normal range for height and weight and head circumference.  Doc also noted he had good muscle tone for his age.  He is already working on holding his head up and looking around....
