Week 33: Big News

Greetings from Colorado!

This week, according to What to Expect, I have reached my maximum amniotic fluid volume. Now it's all baby volume that's increasing.  This is why he seems to push on more sides of me - more baby than fluid to cushion the blows!  He even has a developed enough immune system by now to protect him from really basic stuff until he gets some Mama Milk in the real world.

While the photo may look eerily similar to our house, it is not.  This is Grandma Pat and Grandpa Gary's new house!  They stopped by for a speedy visit last weekend because Scott and I had seen a couple of houses we thought they would like.  And they did!  This one was a bank-owned and it was a good price.  It has a bedroom on the main level (nice) and lots of room for grandkid(s) to play inside.

Even better, the kid can walk there from our house!  They are around the circle in a cul d'sac in our development. To some this may seem daunting, but we are all excited.  I think it will be great for Shrimpy to grow up near at least half of his grandparents.  I remember when my Papa lived with us in Texas and I thought it was the coolest thing ever.  All we have to do now is keep on top of when my folks are moving back to Colorado.

Not sure when Mom and Dad C will get out here.  Dad C is not set to retire until July, so some time after that!

So that is their house (and their realtor).  Exciting times.  Exciting times.

Cravings:  Mexican food

Weird stuff:  Now I am really a klutz. I have dropped so much stuff in the last week it's not even funny.

  1. I had lunch with Pat today and got to see some pics of the inside of the house--NICE! I think it is just great that your baby will get to grow up with Grandparents in the neighborhood--a win/win for all! Take care of that growing boy!

  2. What a nice house! I cant wait to see it in person. I am really happy that they get to live so close to you, I know how much this means to Gary and Pat. Dena, you will probably have to ask for the baby back once Pat gets a hold of him:)

  3. We are all excited and can't wait. It sure makes visiting easier on so many levels. We can reasonably do Christmas with both families now and only travel once. I think that is the best part!

And folks are always welcome to visit us!

  4. It’ll be nice to have someone take me golfing again. It seems like it’s been years since I’ve swung a club. Win/win indeed. Shripy will have two yards to mow, maybe his grand folks will actually pay him for lawn service if they haven’t zero-scaped by then.

Angel or Devil?

Kids. They are too funny. I had to share this one with all of you. We went to Mass today and tried to sit inside for once. Everything was great, until Jack noticed the missal in the pew had these nice orange and yellow squares or something in the illustration on the cover. He was conviced they were dominoes, but that is a word he struggles to say. So, at an especially quiet time in the Mass he looks at me and says, "damn-yous! damn-yous!" We both had a mix of embarassment and laughter. Only out of the mouth of a 2 year old! We went to the back of the church soon after that. :)

Happy Birthday Jack

Here are some photos from Jack's 2nd birthday day, and party. He was so excited he was telling everyone happy birthday! We 'filled' his room with balloons while he was sleeping. He was so excited to wake up to balloons! Jack wanted to pose with his new favorite toy - Buzz! They are still usually only separated at nighttime (too tempting to make noise all night). Oh, and that is his 'camera' smile. He uses it whenever he sees the lens pointed at him. So cheesy! Blowing out the candles on his Spiderman cake. Yes, all the other stuff is Thomas the Train. He likes what he likes. Jack wasn't about to let Emerson go home without a hug. It was a hug, not an attack. Promise!

Easter

Easter has come and gone, but finally I have some photos uploaded! We had a nice time and enjoyed spending time with Grandma and Grandpa C, Antie and Uncle John Tressell , and Uncle Robert, Aunt Natalie, and Emerson. Jack really enjoyed hunting for eggs (for a few days he asked us to hide them again so he could find them), but was a bit disappointed when they no longer had animal cracker in them. Anyway better late than never. I'll put all the photos on Flickr . :) Painting Eggs They actually sat still for three seconds! Family Photo - Easter 2011 Until next time...
