Early Doctor's Visits and Other Common Questions

ultrasound at about 11 weeks

If you are interested in photos, please see the link to the left marked "Photos that go with this blog."  It will take you to other photos that we've uploaded during these exciting months.  (So far not so many photos). That way we can keep only recent ones on this page, but you can still see older ones...

Our first two visits were pretty uneventful. Everything seems to be going well. On my second visit we got a second ultrasound (lucky!) because the doctor could not pick up a heartbeat on her doppler device.   Not a big deal, as Shrimpy is still quite tiny and seems to enjoy a good game of hide and seek. And we got some nice photos out of it which will be posted soon.

Here are the latest stats:

Our Estimated Due Date:  29 March.

Can you tell Dena's pregnant? She can! If you know me really well and see me often you may be able to tell.

Any cravings?  Nothing too off the wall.  Typically it is cheese of some kind, or pasta.  Once in a while I crave chili cheese tater tots from Sonic, and last week I suddenly craved McDonald's.

Aversions? I have a lot of trouble eating fruit - it makes my tummy hurt!

How do you feel? (This is a favorite question of all people) Generally tired and queasy.  And I've become kind of absent minded and forgetful.  Yesterday on the phone with Scott I totally lost what day it was in the course of three sentences.  Thankfully, it looks as if I am past the weepy stage. That was a nightmare.  Even commercials were making me tear up!

Angel or Devil?

Kids. They are too funny. I had to share this one with all of you. We went to Mass today and tried to sit inside for once. Everything was great, until Jack noticed the missal in the pew had these nice orange and yellow squares or something in the illustration on the cover. He was conviced they were dominoes, but that is a word he struggles to say. So, at an especially quiet time in the Mass he looks at me and says, "damn-yous! damn-yous!" We both had a mix of embarassment and laughter. Only out of the mouth of a 2 year old! We went to the back of the church soon after that. :)

Happy Birthday Jack

Here are some photos from Jack's 2nd birthday day, and party. He was so excited he was telling everyone happy birthday! We 'filled' his room with balloons while he was sleeping. He was so excited to wake up to balloons! Jack wanted to pose with his new favorite toy - Buzz! They are still usually only separated at nighttime (too tempting to make noise all night). Oh, and that is his 'camera' smile. He uses it whenever he sees the lens pointed at him. So cheesy! Blowing out the candles on his Spiderman cake. Yes, all the other stuff is Thomas the Train. He likes what he likes. Jack wasn't about to let Emerson go home without a hug. It was a hug, not an attack. Promise!

Easter

Easter has come and gone, but finally I have some photos uploaded! We had a nice time and enjoyed spending time with Grandma and Grandpa C, Antie and Uncle John Tressell , and Uncle Robert, Aunt Natalie, and Emerson. Jack really enjoyed hunting for eggs (for a few days he asked us to hide them again so he could find them), but was a bit disappointed when they no longer had animal cracker in them. Anyway better late than never. I'll put all the photos on Flickr . :) Painting Eggs They actually sat still for three seconds! Family Photo - Easter 2011 Until next time...
