Week 13 - The End (Of Nausea) Is Near

Week 13! This week should be near the end of the queasy phase. Things have been going pretty well.  Uneventful for the most part.  But I am hungrier and that is a good sign! According to What to Expect, Shrimp is growing fast, the size of a peach (or this #13 billiard ball) and the head is half of the body size! And baby's vocal chords are developing. Wonder if Shrimp will be a talker... I am starting to "thicken" if you look closely.  By that I mean no hips and it looks like I ate a whole bowl of spaghetti by myself.  Maybe in the next month there will be something to show for  in a photo! We are trying to decide what to do in our house next, as far as getting ready for baby.  There is still a lot of work to do.  The kitchen counters need to be re-grouted (germs!) and the nursery needs to be emptied and painted.   We are also pondering how to decorate the nursery.  We are leaning towards a more neutral decor (gender neutral that is).   Like green or yellow walls, or a fo...

Welcome!

First we'd like to thank Robert and Natalie for showing us this site. We had been thinking about an easy way to share information and this is it! We call our baby "Shrimpy" because he had that profile for a little while and, well, we aren't exactly the tallest folks that ever walked the earth! I know that many of you are looking forward to March for the simple reason that Robert mails out his annual NCAA Basketball Bracket.  And while I encourage your participation, don't be surprised if you get a second bracket in the mail this year.  The GENE POOL!  Think you know the gender?  Have a grasp on dominant and recessive traits?  We shall see as you test your knowledge on the GENE POOL bracket.   Blond hair?  Brown hair? Blue eyes? Green eyes? Only time will tell, but we can have fun guessing!

Early Doctor's Visits and Other Common Questions

ultrasound at about 11 weeks If you are interested in photos, please see the link to the left marked "Photos that go with this blog."  It will take you to other photos that we've uploaded during these exciting months.  (So far not so many photos). That way we can keep only recent ones on this page, but you can still see older ones... Our first two visits were pretty uneventful. Everything seems to be going well. On my second visit we got a second ultrasound (lucky!) because the doctor could not pick up a heartbeat on her doppler device.   Not a big deal, as Shrimpy is still quite tiny and seems to enjoy a good game of hide and seek. And we got some nice photos out of it which will be posted soon.  Here are the latest stats: Our Estimated Due Dat e:  29 March.   Can you tell Dena's pregnant? She can! If you know me really well and see me often you may be able to tell.   Any cravings?  Nothing too off the wall.  Typically it is cheese of some kind, or pasta.  Once in ...
