Testing Smilebox

Hello. I am testing out Smilebox as an easier way to share my photos than a link to my Flickr account. There are ads right now because I'm using the free version a the trial. If it works, and you readers like it better you can let me know and I will think about a subscription. Or, if the ads don't bother you I will certainly keep using free, as they don't bother me! Our Texas vacation was great and I'm sad we are leaving tomorrow. Thanks to Grandma C for driving down with me, and to Papa S for driving back tomorrow and the next day with me. :) Jack and Logan had a lot of fun and we are all bummed out to leave. I will add more, but right now I have to go pack. Until next time...

Happy Birthday Jack!

It's hard to believe that Jack is already four. Time sure does fly. We had a small family birthday party this weekend (the 16th). I like these types since we can do stuff that's maybe a bit too complicated for larger parties. That said, I understand why some parents opt for Chuck E Cheese, LOL. Jack decided that he wanted to have a Sock Monkey party so we bought ourselves a bag of socks that failed the QA inspection and a pattern book from Red Heel Socks and each of the kids and their cousins got to choose an animal to stuff! This turned out to be a bit of work on my part, but I had fun making the zoo of animals we had at our house. :) Jack had a very good time and we were glad Dad's trip to Florida was postponed so he can also be here for Jack's actual birthday. Hard to believe we are already at Spring Break and school ends in May! My how time flies, but that will be another post. I do actually hope to upload the camera before our trip to Texas, so I will a...

The Slow Remodel

Hello again!      Well, this is starting on the blog, but I may make my own page for it.  We have been saving money for a while (gifts and otherwise) for home improvements. At first we wanted to paint our living room and foyer/stairs.  If you've seen it you know why.  Don't get me wrong, rose wallpaper and poorly painted green walls are not horrible, but it is one of the last parts of the house that needs to be repainted.      That being said, as I sat pondering when to call painters, I became finally fed up with my kitchen pantry. "Pantry" is a generous term for it. It's the standard width and depth of a cupboard, only it's almost five feet tall and totally useless. I don't know how many times I've bought food I'd lost in the back of the pantry.  So, although we cannot do a total kitchen renovation at this time, we did decide to use our money for The Great Pantry Renovation .       Here is a bef...

Merry Christmas and Blessed New Year!!!

Hello!        Late again, as is typical. Almost February and here we are doing the Christmas edition. *sigh* Anyway I hope all of you had a blessed and wonderful Christmas. We had a really good time here in Colorado.          It was the most fun Christmas yet, since Logan was pretty excited about all the commotion, and Jack really understood what was going on. Apart from our typical Advent calendar, we got a different idea from the Internet and made Santa's beard out of cotton balls. Both kids loved gluing the cotton to the poster board:   Ho Ho Ho, the Santa Twins!       Also, this year was our first Christmas Pageant. Jack's preschool had a pageant with all the schoolkids.  Jack was really excited about it.  This year, he was a cow. It was a lot of fun and you could tell he was having a good time.  Of course, whenever I try to take a shot, he ha...
