In Memorium

Nick Jack Krpan and Joseph Salvatore "Buddy" Robino Two of my Great Uncles passed away in the last two weeks. One was my dad's uncle and one was my mom's uncle. They will both be missed a lot. Both my uncles were in their 90s and lived great lives. Robert, Emerson, Jack and I were able to go to Uncle Nick's funeral as it was in Walsenburg. Though it was a sad reason for a reunion we were glad to visit with cousins who live far away who we haven't seen in years. We were not able to make the trip to New Mexico for Uncle Buddy's service but our prayers are with them. Thankfully all 10 of my mom's siblings and cousins were able to be there to support each other and remember good times. Both men were hard workers who served their country and cared for their families proudly and well. I know we have all learned something from their examples. I know they can help us all even more from Heaven. Love, Dena

10 Months Old

Well, Jack just turned 10 months old! How exciting is that! As you can see, he just got his first real haircut! Not too bad for a first try! We are excited about all the things he can do now. Here is a summary of his new achievements. Walks pretty well for 5 or 6 feet at a time. Including turning around to go the other way. Starting to eat "table food" in small bites. He really likes cheese (who doesn't in this family?) Likes Dad to spin him around in Dad's computer chair Discovered that Mommy's belly button is ticklish and likes to tickle me - we both laugh Can sometimes stand up without holding on to anything Is learning to pet the cat the right way Puts toys in boxes and takes them back out. I think he is close to fitting shapes into their places on toys. Likes to dance and babble Claps, and waves his hands over his head We are really excited about his progress and cannot believe it's almost his birthday already. Now we are going to work on sleep traini...

2009 Wrap-Up: Nine Months Old!

What a year it has been for the Christensen Clan! We welcomed Jack to our family, as well as our nephew Emerson Sudar. Mom and Dad Christensen moved out to Denver to be closer to us, and Nonie and Papa Sudar got to visit quite a few times! We are thankful for all the blessings we received this year and for all the people who made the year so wonderful for us. We really enjoyed Jack's first Christmas, and so did he. We actually had 4 celebrations, which was a lot, and maybe there will be fewer next year! We had one with just the three of us, then Jack and I celebrated with a visit from Robert and Emerson. We travelled down to Texas to visit my folks, and then we came back and had Christmas with Scott's folks! What a busy few weeks that was! Jack really loved the lights on the tree, and all the Christmas songs. He also got the hang of opening gifts and enjoyed tearing the paper. We are even more excited about next year when he will have a much better understanding of what...
