Santa Update

Some good news updates about Santa! Our exercise class is at the mall and we took a group photo with Santa and Jack was not quite as upset the second time. On Thursday when we were at class Santa was walking around and Jack kept turning around and looking at him. It was too funny. But he did not cry this time, he was just very curious! "Who is that white-bearded man and why is he so popular??" We are excited for our trip to Texas and are almost packed up. Only the stuff we use every day remains. I even think it will all fit in the car! Happy holidays !

Merry First-mas!

We were strolling (literally) the mall and noticed that there was no line for Santa. Luckily, Jack was totally oblivious to the fact that some strange white-bearded man was holding him until just after they snapped the photo - and he realized that both Mommy and Daddy were waving at him... Since we are traveling this holiday we decided to have our Family Christmas a bit early. Okay, really early. But it was the last weekend before we left and what fun is Christmas on a weeknight? So Scott and Jack and I had "Christmas" on the 11 th . We called it "First-mas" since we are having one later with each set of grandparents. And at least this year Jack won't really know the difference. Heck, he'll enjoy three different days of playing with wrapping paper and eating boxes. We had lots of fun and it really felt like the real thing, until I had to go to the Dentist at 11:00. Who goes to the dentist on Christmas? I don't recommend it AT ALL. I'll get so...

Jack's Eye Doctor Visit

Today Jack had his infant vision screening at the eye doctor's office. He did a pretty good job, and did not look too scared, although he did look concerned for a time. The doctor said he was far-sighted, and that he only had a very small amount of astigmatism. This was a relief to me because mine is so terrible. Hopefully Jack's will not get much worse. Otherwise his eyes were fine and we even tried the colorblind test. He seemed to grab for the red "snake" in but really, it's hard to know at this age. At the very least it is some insight into what things will be like in a few years.
