A Big Thanks To Everyone!

Dear Friends and Family, I sit here this morning (Saturday) and am relieved that it is supposed to be the last Saturday that Scott has to work 6 day weeks on this test project. I have had other names for it such as "evil" and "nefarious" but only when I am really frustrated! :) I just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who has helped, visited, and called these last 6 months! While we are very grateful for Scott to be working, and not to be working in the military (such that he does come home every night eventually), it has nonetheless been a difficult and trying time for us. I have had some very lonely and exhausting times either wondering when he would get home, or trying to find a way to pass the time on the weekend when Scott was not around. I know it has also been hard on Scott to not be able to spend more than 15 minutes with Jack on some weeknights. I especially want to thank Mom and Dad for moving our Skype sessions to Saturday mornings...

Gnomebody Knows The Trouble I've Seen

Well, when it rains (or snows) it pours! Our poor gnome had to hide in a snow cave to ride out the storm - so to speak. There was so much snow we would not have been able to open our back door! Back Patio - you'll have to take our word for it! Our gnome was not expecting this. He does not like igloos!

Happy Halloween!

Jack the Dragon Knowing Scott, are you really Surprised?? Jack really seems to like being a Dragon! Today we tried on the Halloween costume because there was supposed to be a party at Stroller Strides Class. Alas, it was snowed out (so much snow!!) but we posed for some photos anyway. I'm sure there will be more in a couple of days, but we are probably just staying home giving out candy since Grandma and Grandpa aren't quite here yet. However - good news -- they sold their house! Yeah! So they should be here by Turkey Day which will be loads of fun. And what fun is a Halloween costume if you only wear it one night a year?? Happy Halloween!

Happy Birthday!!

Relaxing in Bed - A Perfect Birthday! Jack Helps Mom Open Presents Well, last Sunday was Mom's (my) Birthday! We had our party before most normal people wake up. Because we all wake up at 5:30 in the morning. LOL!! So we had birthday-in-bed which I am a big fan of. Scott and Jack brought up some gifts for me to open. Jack liked the card from my folks the best - it was the most colorful and most tasty! At 9:00 I ventured off to play with the Church Choir - it was the Children's Choir that day which is always amusing in so many ways. While I was gone Scott and Jack baked me a so-yummy Devil's Food cake with chocolate icing. Only the best cake in the universe! I blew out the candles (only 3 candle's folks) and it gave Jack a bit of a fright. Not so sure why. He did like the balloon though (see previous post). We spent the day relaxing as a family, which is a rare occurrence lately and a great birthday gift - Scott had 2 days off!! To wrap it up Scott made dinne...

Let It Snow!

We had the first snow in a while so I decided to bundle Jack up and see what he thought of the it. We put on a few layers of clothing, some boots, a hat, and mittens and took our splat mat outside in the front yard. It was a really wet snow so there was not much to do with it. We did not last long! One attempt at walking, some sitting, and then an unmittened hand into the snow, which ended the outdoor fun - brr! Better luck next time, and with a snowsuit! I also think a fluffier drier snow will be more fun for everybody. Jack Isn't So Sure About This In From The Snow. Big Boots, Small Boots

Jack O'Lantern

Halloween is almost here! We hear your comments already, and no Jack is NOT dressing up like a carved pumpkin for Halloween. We thought that was a little obvious (at least this year). Maybe he'll find it hilarious one day and do it on his own. So instead, since I am truly Pun at Heart, I figured if we weren't going to dress Jack up like a pumpkin, we would dress our pumpkin up like Jack. Here is our Jack O'Lantern for 2009! LOL!

Photos We Like

Finally! A photo with Mommy! Backed into a corner! Smile!

Fall Visitors

Well, Fall is here and we have been noticing! The weather goes between 30s and 70s depending on the week. It also seems that we have unknowingly been under siege. By the looks of things they have abandoned their post and we will have to hunt them down next year... Despite the fact that Scott is always at work (or so it seems) we have managed to tuck some fun into our long days and weeks. Over Columbus Day, Great Aunt Marian and Uncle John visited and we enjoyed some football on Sunday and lunch with them as well as Uncle Robert on Monday. I just wanted to thank everyone who has called and visited and been very patient with us during Scott's long weeks. I think the record work day to date has been 13.5 hours! I feel worst for Scott since he just sees Jack for 5 or 10 minutes on those nights before Jack is too tired to be awake any longer. But we are grateful for all that we have so we keep our chin up and know there is a light at the end of the tunnel! :)
