4 Month Checkup: Captain Adorable

It's not red eye, it's LASER eyes. Well, on Friday Jack had his four month checkup. And everything is OK. Jack weighed 12 lb 1/4 oz (10th percentile) and was 24 1/2 inches tall (45th percentile), all good news! The Doctor says Jack is right where he should be as far as growth and development. We expect he will roll from back to front soon, but he mostly loves standing and looking behind himself. Also, doc says Jack shouldn't need cereal for another couple of months. I had a couple of questions for the doctor and got answers that at least made me feel better. 1) "He still hates the bottle and sometimes he doesn't eat even if we aren't there" Well, some babies never take well to the bottle, so you may want to just start using a sippy cup also and see if that works, since those don't look like "fake nipples" So we're trying it (amusing as it is to watch) and right now he just plays with them 2) "About these 'naps' I hear tal...

New Sidebar Items

Dear Friends and Famliy, Or, "Fans of Jack." We added another new sidebar to replace our poll. Some of you still ask what kind of things we need. Like when you are thinking of a birthday or holiday gift. Or just because he is so cute it is hard for grandparents and the like not to spoil him. So we decided to make it easy for everyone and show a list of the items that we need. Hope this helps you out some. We will update it when we meet our goals. Our next big milestone will be BABY FOOD. Oh My!

Interview with Jack #1

Greetings One and All, Well, we've come a long way with Baby! I can't believe Little John Preston is almost 4 months old. Phew! There a lot of new and neat things we have noticed about him. So, we wanted to share our thoughts, and then, you can hear it straight from the horses mouth. Jack's Neat Things: Smiles and Laughs when Daddy comes home (or Mommy) Holds toys Reaches for preferred toys (usually orange or red in color) Makes lots of bubbles and drool Tries to roll over from back to front Enjoys watching us do things (like eat, or cook) Has moods and distinct personality traits Stubborn (very much so) Gives Mom "the eye" when I do something he does not like (such as put him in the car-seat) Babbles and babbles Smiles at strangers. and at people he knows. Anticipates meals and other fun stuff Is no longer colicky - still fussy at times, but nothing like last month! Watches the cats and likes them.
