Roll Over

Well, it has been an exciting week so far. Jack has been doing way better as far as fussiness goes (at least for the last few days). He is much more talkative, and even gets excited when Dad comes home. But today, a big milestone! He rolled over from his front to his back. I did not even catch the first time because I turned around to grab something. But he did it every time I put him on his tummy this morning. Woo Hoo! We are looking forward to our nephew Emerson's baptism this weekend. It should be a wonderful time.

Jack's Baptism/Father's Day

Proud Papa Jack's Baptism Jack and Scott had a great Father's Day weekend (well, me too). My folks (Nonie and Papa Sudar ) were in town for Jack's baptism. Mom and Dad, Robert & Natalie & Emerson, and Scott, Jack and I went to breakfast on Saturday morning for Father's Day. It was a really nice time at a place Scott and I had never been (The Egg and I). Sunday was Jack's baptism after the 12:00 Mass at our Church, St. Mary. It was just our family so that made it really nice. Nonie and Papa Sudar were there, so were two of my mom's siblings, Uncle John and Aunt Marian. My cousin Shellie was also there. Robert and Natalie were Jack's Godparents which was really special for both Jack and I. Fr. Javier did a great job. Jack cried a bit in the middle of the ceremony, and we had a few laughs about presidents and pirates . Overall, a good time. Then we had lunch back at our house and we all got to visit for a few hours. Thanks everyone who was a...

Family Visits

Jack and Antie Marian Jack and Carla (cousin) Uncle Tom and Aunt Jetta What an exciting weekend we all had! Uncle Tom and Aunt Jetta Tressell visited from Idaho Falls (where Mom and Dad met just a few years ago!!).  We had a great visit over two days.  Friday afternoon everyone met at our house for Pizza.  Saturday  Jack and I spent the morning at Uncle John's house in Westminster then met at Jim and Carla's house in Arvada . We met Shellie and Matthew there, as well as Uncle Robert, Aunt Natalie and Emerson, who came between a wedding and a reception they were attending.  Jack and I did not stay for dinner since Dad had worked and wasn't feeling well.  But it was great to see everyone again.      We are excited for Jack's baptism this Sunday after Mass.   Nonie and Papa Sudar left today (Wednesday) for Colorado.  They will be in Walsenburg tomorrow and up here Friday. We are so excited to see them again!  I will post pictures and maybe a video of Sundays' eve...

Nursery Is Finished! (Finally)

Yeah! His nursery is finally finished.  And last night was his first night in his own room! I think it was harder for me than for him. He has been sleeping from 7:30 to about 3:30 or 4:00 so we figured we would try it out. We went down to Walsenburg this weekend and Jack slept in the living room, so we had some practice and that made the choice easier when we got home.  We had a good time and visited both Jack's Great Aunt Marian (Antie) and Great-Great Aunt Louise. And, of course, we forgot our camera! They were both doing well and we had a really nice visit.  Jack was well behaved and enjoyed meeting both of them.  He laughed and talked a lot this weekend. We learned that my dad's maternal grandfather's name was Jack ("Yacko" is how they pronounce it in Croatian) so Louise called him "Yacko"the whole day.  We also read the Downing family newsletter on the way down (Scott's side of the family), and learned that there was a guy named John Preston who...
