Week 26: Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas! We hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas.  All of us did.  This is as close as we could get to everyone looking at the camera.   Scott's folks came out from Omaha and we had lots of fun. The weather was unusually nice.  As for baby's progress, according to What to Expect , he's about 2 lbs this week.  Like the pot roast you'd buy at the supermarket!   He can hear pretty well, and his eyes are opening.  No real pigment yet, but that will be in by the time it counts!  He's been moving around a lot lately and you can even see it sometimes (which freaks me out). Cravings:  I had 2 leftover grilled sandwiches.  Ham and Mustard Potatoes Au Gratin.  Well, it tasted good. So there! PS: More Christmas photos on Flickr (See link to right)

Dog In Boots

Well, it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas . At the North Pole . The mercury has a tendency here to fall out the bottom of the thermometer! Most of this week was below freezing and this weekend is not expected to be different! While we have a few days above freezing (toasty!) I decided to try out Tiberius' new boots. Hopefully they will keep his feet from cracking since it's so very very cold. Plus, he does not like how wet earth feels on his feet so they'll be used at other times as well. He does not like them yet. He won't sit and kind of prances around like those world famous Lipizzaner stallions. Maybe they are auditioning understudies.

Week 25: Moving Right Along

Happy Week 25! We are getting ready for Christmas - Scott's folks are coming out from Omaha this weekend and we are super excited to see them again! According to What to Expect , this week baby weighs about a pound and a half.  (That's six hamburgers!!!) And he's about 9 inches tall.  How does it all fit in there???  His lungs are still maturing (the last to go), but he's not ready to breathe on his own yet.  That said, his nose is unplugged and he is "practicing". I wish my nose was unplugged! I hate this stuffy nose!  They say he will hiccup sometimes too, but I'm not sure I've felt that yet.  Or what it would feel like for that matter... Cravings:  Today I pre-made sausage balls for Christmas morning. So I tasted them to see if they were OK to feed the in-laws! :)  Funny Moments: Well, the funny thing is I can't remember...so none this week!  Usually I just forget the word I am trying to use.  I guess I told Scott I needed matches for the base...

Week 24: Blue Tomatos

This week we went to the doctor's and all is as it should be. His little heart was beating 140 bpm. She found a spot right at the heart so we could hear the valves contracting too - it was really neat! They gave me my sugar drink for next month. I took orange over fruit punch. I never have liked fruit punch. So in January we have our test for gestational diabetes and anemia. I also took a breathing test because I have asthma. I hate those because the tube you have to blow into so huge in diameter it's hard to get any force behind it. But that turned out OK. According to What to Expect , Shrimpy is about 8.5 inches long - like a piece of paper! But his postage would be tons as he's gained on average 6 oz from last week. He is gaining fat and filling out. He has eyelashes and eyebrows and even a bit of hair - even though right now it has no pigment so it's white. I too am becoming rounder. I have a red sweater and Scott says it makes me look like a tomato. But since he...

Thanks to Robert & Natalie and the Tressell/Sudar Clans

Just wanted to thank all the Tressells and Sudars for the great shower Robert and Natalie put on while everyone was able to be here for Thanksgiving. I know it was probably earlier than what would be traditional, but it was great to have it in person will all of you guys. As you can see we have quite the bounty of cute clothes! And for now the diaper stacker (hanging on the right) is full to the brim with useful and SOFT blankets. Thanks everyone for all the wonderful generosity! Our little bookshelf is on the other side of the closet and has lots of books in it now. Just wanted to thank everyone who came - it was so great to see all of you and share this with you. We are just too excited for March to come. Not ready - way closer now - but really excited. And thanks to Mom C for the cute "cousin" gift she sent both Scott & I and Robert & Natlalie together. It was too cute. They may be born even closer together than my cousin Garth and I were! Thanks again folks...

Sixth Month Snow Storm!

Well, actually it snowed on Sunday, but I like the photo so I'm going to use it! We measured 12" on our back patio. Yesterday marked the begining of our sixth month - it goes by so fast! According to What to Expect, baby is around 8 inches long and just over one pound. Not that I couldn't tell he was a bit heavier these days...His skin is "saggy" because it grows faster than his fat (lucky him). But soon his fat will catch up and he won't be see-through baby. I have beeen feeling OK for the most part. My back is starting to hurt more often but that was to be expected. I just take it easy and let Scott do most of the snow shoveling! Cravings: Bread. Yum yum yum.
